If you are interested in Heslinga family roots, check out our Fryslan (Dutch: Freisland) photos. Dan, Germaine and Anne visited Bitgum (Beetgum) the home of Gjalt Heslinga and Klaaska (soon to be Heslinga) Molenaar. Gjalt and Klaaska--parents of my grandfather Frank Heslinga--emigrated from Beetgum to Colorado in 1893. It so happens that Anne is attending graduate school in Rotterdam which is where Gjalt and Klaaska set sail for America.
